About Middleton Youth Hockey
Our Club
Middleton Youth Hockey is a volunteer-led, Tier-2 youth ice hockey club for families in the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District west of Madison, WI. We offer developmental and competitive hockey programs for players 3- to 18-years-old.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help kids fall in love with hockey. We provide fun, challenging, and development-focused experiences that help every player grow as an athlete, teammate, and person.
Our Vision
We envision a thriving hockey community where players, families, coaches, and volunteers are united by a shared love of the game. Through positive experiences, player-centered development, and supportive coaching, every child has the opportunity to develop character, confidence, and a lifelong connection to hockey.

What Age Levels Does Middleton Youth Hockey Offer Programs For?
We're proud to offer educational, fun, and competitive hockey to the kids of Middleton School District for kids as young as 3-years-old and continuing through teams for high school players. To learn more about our programs, which are divided by age level, please read more here.
Is there a way to just "try" hockey a little bit?
Sort of! We want kids to try hockey because we expect that they'll love it. If your brand-new 3-6-year-old MCPASD skater is interested in trying hockey, we offer their first season of Learn to Play (typically around 2-months long) for free!
While we're not able to offer free access to our Jumpstart! program, it's a low-commitment (and low-pressure) way for 7-12-year-old kids to get a taste of youth hockey.
Additionally, Middleton Youth Hockey also has a great (and affordable) gear rental program for MCPASD skaters. Details can be found here.

USA Hockey's American Development Model
Middleton Youth Hockey uses USA Hockey's American Development Model (ADM) and Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) plan as the foundation for our programming. Together, they offer curriculum & player development guidelines that ensure every youth hockey player will have fun, growth, and success.
By utilizing USA Hockey's ADM and LTAD, hockey associations can provide better skill development, increase player retention, and carry some of the practice-planning weight for coaches.
